Festival Cordillera is a music festival created to promote and showcase exclusively Latin American sounds. It emerged after the pandemic, bringing together different genres and generations without distinction. The festival celebrates Latinidad, embracing the language, traditional attire, roots, and musical diversity of the region. It’s an event that connects the continent through music, just like the Andes mountain range connects Latin America.
At this festival, attendees can enjoy a wide variety of genres, including Latin American rock, cumbia, ballads, reggae, rap, pop, bossa nova, and more. In addition to the music, there are local vendors, Colombian artisans, and organic markets.
Process
I began with a mind map to identify keywords and concepts that could help convey the essence of the festival. My goal was to highlight not only the spirit of the event but also its unique qualities and its connection to Latin American roots. I discovered that a key aspect of this festival is its physical connection, as many of the featured performers come from regions along the Andes mountain range.
With that in mind, I developed four creative paths to express what I found most meaningful. My thumbnail explorations helped me discover the best ways to represent this physical connection both geographically and artistically, while adding a human touch. This unique perspective is what makes the festival so special.

I always aim to combine traditional and digital media; in this case, I used ink to create textures for the final piece.
